Lion's Share: King of the Jungle?
In a game whose name so obviously depicts the famed king of the jungle, you might expect Lion's Share to be a jungle-based game in which the imagery on the reels will be of snakes and birds, or of predators and vines. Not so with Lion's Share; in fact, the symbols on the reels are what you might expect of standard online slots games: berries and bars and gold coins and other symbols of the like. You can't expect this one to turn you into Tarzan. The phrase lion's share comes from one of Aesop's Fables, in which a lion, a wolf, a fox and a jackal kill a deer and cut it into four parts. The lion then claims all four parts of the deer. Henceforth, the phrase lion's share has come to mean the largest part of something. And that is the idea behind the game: that when you play Lion's Share, you are entitled to the lion's share of the jackpots to won in available online slots games. In Lion's Share, the player may not be king of the jungle, but the lion - as might seem obvious - is certainly the king of the game. In this game, the lion is both the wild symbol and a multiplier symbol. If the lion is the one wild symbol which completes the row on the payline, then the lion serves to double the amount that the player has won. If there are two lion symbols on that payline, then the winnings are multiplied by 4. The best outcome, however, is to have three wild lion symbols on a payline because those three wilds will pay 8,000 coins for a bet of three coins. In Lion's Share, by the way, bets are one, two or three coins, while the game has three reels and one payline.
Those in the know, claim that the best strategy for playing Lion's Share is to always bet three coins. If you bet either one or two coins, and you end up with three wild symbols (aka. three lions), then you get a payout of either 2,000 or 4,000 coins, respectively. Now, that's pretty good in and of itself, but if you wager three coins and the same thing happens, then you will be paid 8,000 coins. And if you're hesitant to bet three coins, say the experts, then bet three smaller coins from your bank.
Let's face it: a lot of online slots games look a lot alike. They use standard symbols and standard concepts in order to arrive at more or less the same ends. Games like Lion's Share break the trend somewhat. The experience is likely to be far more enjoyable if there is an imaginative element to it; that is, if the player can, through the game, imagine himself or herself in a unique situation or in a land far, far away. In this case, the setting might be the jungle, an African Serengeti, or perhaps even the pastoral landscapes of the Narnia.
